Olympus E-420

Olympus E-420The Olympus E-420 (announced March 5, 2008) is a 10 megapixel small and light digital SLR.

The E-420 features: “AF Live View” for easier compositions, Face Detection, a large 2.7 inch HyperCrystal II LCD display, 28 automatic, semiautomatic and manual shooting options, and Supersonic Wave Filter for dust protection. 

The Olympus E-420 is an upgraded version of the E-410 digital SLR and also features the True Pic III image processor, ISO 100 – 1600, 3.5 frames per second with up to 8 images in RAW buffer.    

Reported as being the worlds smallest and lightest DSLR the Olympus E-420 measuring 5.1 inches by 3.6 inches by 2.1 inches (excluding protrusions), and is featherweight at just 13.4 ounces.

The EXILIM EX-Z9 features a 2.6 inch LCD monitor, Anti Shake DSP to reduce photo blur from moving objects or shaky hands, Easy Mode to simplify the camera settings to 3 easy menus, 23 Best Shot Modes for high quality images, and Face Detection technology for maintaining sharp focus.

Sony Cybershot W300The Sony cybershot DSC W300 is a compact 13.6 megapixel point and shoot, with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 3x optical zoom lens (35mm – 105mm). 

The DSC W300 features a 2.7 inch LCD display, smile shutter technology, face detection, and intelligent scene recognition mode and super steady shot optical image stabilization. The camera is finished in an ultra hard titanium coating.

The DSC-W300 will hit stores in May for about $350.

Sony Alpha DSLR-A350

The Sony Alpha A350 (announced 30 January 2008) is a 14.2 megapixel (CCD) DSLR with a 2.7 inch tilting LCD (making it easy to view the screen from high or low positions). The LCD has a live view mode.

It has an ISO range of 100 to 3200 and a shutter speed range of 30 to 1/4000 second. Due to it having more megapixels than the A300 it is limited to 2 frames per second shooting at full resolution.

The Sony Alpha A350 will be bundled with a DT 18-70mm f3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens and have a retail price of around $900 USD.

It features Sony’s new Quick AF Live View system which allows you to frame images in the camera’s 2.7 inch LCD yet still be able to focus images quickly. The LCD tilts up and down to allow you to view it from different angles.

The Sony Alpha A300 DSLR shoots at up to 3 frames per second, and accepts Compact Flash media cards.

It will ship with a DT 18-70mm f3.5-5.6 standard zoom lens for a retail price of around $800 USD.
